GPS VEHICLE LOCATORS

The Innovation Technology Laboratory (ITL) developed low cost equipment to locate stolen vehicles by means of Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers which can locate and transmit the coordinate of a vehicle in less than 1 minute to a control center. This system is also useful to follow truck fleets of to know where is located every mobile of a fleet. The system also allows the remote disconnection of the electrical system in the vehicles in case it is stolen or the remote programming of events such as the closing of the doors, horn and lights activation of other events which can be programmed depending the customer needs. Our system position the vehicle in a map of the region with an error of less than 50 meters.


A small computer is located inside the vehicle.
A GPS receptor is located in the top or roof on the vehicle.
The control center displays the position of the vehicles.
A precise map of the area shows the position and trip of the units.
Entire fleets can be easily tracked with this device.


The transmission of the location data can be made by several systems depending of the requirements and the needed distance. For small coverage with vehicles using a fixed route it is recommended to use radio links because their economy, but this area is reduced to 50 miles. For larger coverages it is recommender to use the existing cellular phones system. For a worldwide coverage specially for ships and containers which needs to be tracked it is recommender the use of satellites as the Orbcomm system. In every case we will analyze the customer needs in order to obtain a top level product with the minimum possible investment.
